How long does a dental implant procedure take?

Dental implants are a permanent tooth replacement option for those with one or several missing teeth. At Deep River Dentistry, we offer dental implants that look, feel, and function just like natural teeth.

The Dental Implant Procedure

The dental implant placement surgery usually takes 1-2 hours.

Once Dr. Cassidy Bray places the implant post in the jaw, the jaw and oral tissues require adequate time to fully heal before we place your permanent dental crown. The implant and jaw bone naturally fuse together through a process called osseointegration.

The gums must also have time to heal before we place your final restoration. Complete osseointegration and healing for the gums can take between two to six months.

The entire dental implant process can be completed in a matter of months, from start to finish. If a patient needs bone grafting to ensure the dental implant stays secure and viable, this could extend the treatment timeline.
